Ceramic Artist | Nature Illustrator | Studio Teacher
Shellie Christian is a ceramic artist, nature illustrator, and studio teacher based on the Central Coast of Australia. Her work is a deeply personal response to the bushland, coastlines, and native wildlife that shape her world — an ongoing conversation with place, memory, and material.
Guided by intuition and grounded in earthy connection, Shellie creates sculptural forms and functional wares that reflect the rhythm of nature. From bird totems that perch with quiet symbolism to vessels etched with the delicate linework of trees and feathers, each piece is both story and stillness.
With a background in mixed media and floristry, and formal training in Visual Arts, Shellie brings a fluid, multidisciplinary approach to her practice. Her award-winning ceramics are collected, exhibited, and sold across boutique galleries and stores throughout Australia.
Shellie’s Central Coast studio is a nurturing hub for creative exploration — offering soulful, nature-inspired clay classes, community art projects, and open studio days. Her teaching style is generous and grounded, encouraging others to find meaning in making.
As her practice evolves toward public and outdoor ceramic installations, Shellie continues to seek new ways to merge drawing, sculpture, and community — honouring the land through art that resonates and remembers.
